Notes about field vs shop welds.

Refering to two different types of welds, CJP and PJP,

apparently just the arrow or the values of the effective throat sides are posted,
I guess that at a complete joint penetration (CJP) yoo don't really need to specify the size of the leg.

Seems like the triangle below the sign represent a fillet weld, I believe the side of the triangle implies the location of the weld on a plate.

Somehow, structural Steel shall meet the requireemnts of AASHTO M270... this value probably has a representation outside of the AASHTO standard, something like Grade 50 steel?
