Here you can see part of two of the trusses (on zy planes),
Floor beams on top and bottom,
Utilitiy pipe running across on the top (not sure which one of the 9 or 12 kinds it is).

That diaphragm brace... is for lateral support on (xz), except, some of them may act in resistance for earthquake.

The holes on the truss elements are often on top or bottom of the members.
Believe me, though it is like that they provide enough stiffness and strength to the entire structure.

I'll double check the report and come back with some real numbers.
